We have 12 walking groups

It is hardly surprising that as we are surrounded by superb open countryside walking is a popular pastime in our county. Our groups range from Gentle Strollers which aims to improve the health and fitness of the less mobile to Fellwanders Plus which organises challenging walks into the high fells.

If you are thinking of joining a walking group, please check the group status as some are either full at the moment or are operating a waiting list. If the group is open to new members then please email the coordinator via the group page.

Most groups keep group members up to date on walk programmes and arrangements by email.

Members make their own way to the starting points, and we encourage car sharing to minimise parking difficulties.
