We walk about 5 miles or so with not too many ups and finish with lunch at a pub/ café or perhaps a picnic if the weather is fine.

We sometimes do bus-based walks and we try and arrange a car share for further afield walks.

  • Walk around Crooklands

    On this month's walk, Amblers 3 group came across the Dry Stone Walling Association in action at the training area at Crooklands. A number of different types of wall can be seen. The walk started at Stainton near the aqueduct and returned via Milton.

  • Christmas walk to round off an excellent year

    Members of the Amblers 3 group were lucky to find a dry morning to enjoy a Christmas walk around Levens Park, fuelled by hot punch provided by Alistair.  This walk rounded off a year of varied walks led by different members of the group.

  • Limestone country walks

    In April SLu3a Amblers 3 group enjoyed a sunny walk around Newbiggin Craggs, Holme Fell and Farleton Fell, some of the best limestone pavement in the country.
