We are a friendly group of recorder players of intermediate standard and beyond.

The group caters for all tastes and plays a wide range of music in four or more parts ranging from Renaissance and Baroque to folk and blues.

The group chooses a series of pieces to work on each term.

We are currently not accepting new members but if you are interested in joining us please get in touch and we can give you more information on the current makeup of the group and perhaps put you on the waiting list.

Christmas carols in the Parish Church

On Saturday 20 December the Recorder Ensemble entertained visitors to the Parish Church Christmas Tree Festival with an hour of carols. We had an appreciative audience who were in good voice and joined in on several of the more well known ones. Jan Tawn Photo credit Samantha Ridgway

Concert for the AGM 2025

Recorder group and conductor

At our recent concert for the South Lakes u3a AGM, the group wanted to showcase the range of music that we play. We started with some well known folk songs. We played two well known pieces from the 18th century by Handel and a piece by Farmer from the 16th century Elizabethan age. Also included were several pieces by contemporary composers including local composer Judith Bush.
