We are a friendly, inquisitive group who scour the media for topical research and psychological themes. Recently we have discussed: Gender are there really only 2 distinct forms?; What is the trouble with boys? and Why do bystanders sometimes stand by and not offer help?
There is no requirement to have any prior knowledge of psychology.
If you have ever read headlines such as:
- ‘The stresses of modern life are fueling the rise in depression’
- ‘Electrical brain stimulation can improve learning’
- ‘Playing a musical instrument can prevent dementia’
and wondered "What evidence is there for this? How valid is that evidence? Does this tell me anything useful for my life?"
If so, this group is for you!
