A selection of non fiction books on a table

The group was recently established to create an opportunity for discussion of a range of non-fiction writing, since most book groups seem to focus on fiction.

We embrace a broad spectrum of topics ranging through history, environment, politics, biography, art, culture, philosophy, health, psychology and more.

Members take turns to recommend a book for the group to read, and then introduce it briefly to facilitate a general discussion.

Like all reading groups this works best if members can commit to attending with some regularity.

Last year amongst the books read were:

The Temporary Bride: A Memoir of Love and Food in Iran by Jennifer Klinec

Temporary Bride -book

Wild Fell by Lee Schofield

On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century by Timothy Snyder
