We are an enthusiastic anf friendly group who enjoy listening to talks on the Hanoverian period.
Whilst we have heard about the first three monarchs, all called George, we don't just focus on kings and wars. Over the last three years we have been introduced to many topics ranging from: Admiral Anson; bathing machines; the postal service; turnpikes;duelling; Handel; Byron and friends; and many other areas of interest.
Examples of what we are hoping to introduce in the next season are: the theatre of the time; the Luddites; Thomas Telford; Burke and Hare.
'What comes when' depends on who has finalised their presentation but there will definately be a fascinating and enjoyable talk every month.
The group is steadily growing but we do have room for a few more - if you are interested you'll be made very welcome.
