Christmas would not be as festive without the traditional trees and carols. With growing excitement and expectations, we journeyed to the Holy Trinity Parish Church in Kendal. As the doors opened the joy of Christmas opened its arms embracing everyone with broad smiles, hot drinks, cakes, amazing decorations and carols. Trees, from many charities, proudly festooned with messages of love and support for their local communities, stood as dignified sentries lining the isles.
Our South Lakes u3a tree stood amongst them. Our tree, dressed by the Artistic Expression group, highlighted the activities we provide that enables our members to Learn, Laugh and Live. And our celebrated volunteers who enhance lifelong learning, keeping our minds and bodies active and preventing loneliness.
Well refreshed and taking a pew, we waited for our u3as ensemble of talented recorder musicians to begin. With the spirit of Christmas and festively dressed, the ensemble kept us, and the audience of over 100 people from around Kendal, entertained with their plethora of carols and singing. A wonderful experience, enjoyed by all.
