Pickleball groups enjoy end of term lunch and trophy presentations

On Friday 10th July, 52 members of the u3a Pickleball groups enjoyed lunch at the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal.

The occasion was a chance for members of the different groups to get to know each other socially, with, of course, the common bond of playing Pickleball at Natland.

Hilary gave a brief summary of the Pickleball year, and expressed thanks to all the group helpers.

During the Summer term, a tournament has been running for all players who wished to join in. Over the 5 Pickleball groups 38 people completed the required 8 games over 11 weeks, and the scores were recorded.

At the end of term Summer lunch, a trophy was presented to the winner of each group, and a medal to the runner up.

It was a good social occasion on a very hot, sunny day!

Pickleball is an inclusive sport, and members make new friendships as well as having some exercise.
