The first Pickleball friendly competition between two local u3a groups was held on Saturday, 4th July at Kendal Leisure Centre.

The competition between South Lakes u3a and Windermere u3a, was well organised by Ann Lisseman.

Each team had 8 players and the standard of play was high, As the morning went on, the effort and enthusiasm of all the players became intense!!

Whilst Windermere u3a had put up a good fight in the matches, after all the games had been completed and the scores added up, South Lakes u3a was declared the winner.

Medals were presented to both teams, and in the true sense of the u3a organisation, everyone enjoyed meeting people from a different u3a group. As for another match - Windermere have already asked for a return "friendly"!
