Over 60 members attended our South Lakes u3a AGM this morning at the Castle Street Centre. Formal matters went very smoothly with reports from Treasurer, Jeff Hickens and Chair, Samantha Ridgway. The proposed new committee was voted in. Voting has been online and by post and some members voted in person at the AGM.

After the AGM the new consititution was approved and the Chair explained that this would now go forward to the Third Age Trust and the Charity Commission for their approval, prior to it being put to an Extraordinary General Meeting at which members would vote to adopt the new constitution. This process may take a few months.

Members were then entertained by the newly formed Easy Singing group. With Coordinator Nick Morice at the keyboard and 6 pioneer group members, the audience was invited to join in with songs from Abba to Irving Berlin.
