Our meetings usually consist of a talk by a group member or guest speaker, followed by questions and discussion. Occasionally we make visits to places of scientific or technological interest. Last year we covered a wide range of topics including: the tides around Arnside; sight problems and vision aids; audio technology; lighthouse design.
Possible topics for next year includes: Nobel Prize scientists and facial recognition.
Our series of talks are open to all South Lakes u3a members. Group members receive reminders about talks, updates on the programme, and enjoy priority for participation in the visits.
New members are very welcome, even more so if they can offer a suitable talk!
